Admission
Families are encouraged to visit The Rise School of Austin to learn about the school, share information about their child, and explore their interest in the program. Parents must complete an admission packet prior to enrollment or to be placed on the waiting list, and provide a physician-signed health assessment form stating that their child is able to participate in a school-based program. Children are enrolled based on their age, individual needs, and availability of space in the classroom, and must be able to benefit from participation in a group setting.
Once enrolled, children with developmental disabilities receive a comprehensive evaluation that consists of a series of assessments involving an educator, physical and/or occupational therapist, speech-language pathologist, and the family. Results from the evaluation process are used to create educational and developmental goals that are incorporated into an intervention plan for each child. Rise’s team of professionals and the family work together in the development of the child’s Individual Education Plan.
All eligible children are admitted independent of any race, color, and national or ethnic origin.
