LEAD TEACHER
The Lead Teacher must have a Bachelor’s degree with specialization in early childhood. Coursework and/or experience in special education preferred. Enrollment in a Master’s program a plus. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds. The qualified person will:
- Supervise and insure the safety and well-being of the children at all times, interact frequently with children showing respect and affection.
- Plan motivating classroom activities following the Rise Curriculum and student IEP’s. Encourage the use of language and independent functioning.
- Handle behavior promptly and in accordance with stated school policy on behavior management
- Maintain a stimulating and inviting classroom environment.
- Document student performance and progress monthly.
- Conduct parent conferences upon request and at designated times.
- Report directly to the Executive Director.
- Attend regular staff and evaluation meetings.
- Attend and assist with any other duties assigned.

INSTRUCTIONAL TEACHER ASSISTANT
The Teacher Assistant is accountable to both the lead classroom teacher and the director. The qualified person must have a high school diploma or equivalent. CDA preferred. Training and/or experience working with young children. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds. The qualified person will:
- Interact frequently with the students showing respect and affection.
- Assist the lead teacher in the preparation and implementation of classroom activities; work with individual children and groups assigned by the teacher; assist children with self-care needs including toileting, diapers, feeding and lifting.
- Perform routine duties and responsibilities on time, maintain good attendance and attend workshops conducted at Rise.
- Be familiar with each student’s individual needs and abilities.
- Assist the teacher with any other duties assigned.
