Affiliations

The Rise School of Denver has been successful in building strong partnerships in the Denver community.  Currently, we have working contracts with JFK Partners, The Children’s Hospital and Denver Options.  In addition to contracting with JFK Partners to provide a Speech Therapist, they also provides the opportunity to collaborate on therapy and training of medical professionals, board representation and research site potential and The Rise Schools continues to be a practicum site for students at CU Boulder and Denver.  Our Nurse Consultant from the Children’s Hospital offers monthly visits, in-services to staff and one on one support for children with specific health concerns.  The Rise School is a provider of services offered through Denver Options for children ages one through three.

Additional collaborators include: The University of Colorado at Denver’s Graduate School of Education/Special Needs placing one or two practicum students each semester in one of our classrooms. The Down syndrome Coalition is a group of 7 organizations that offer services for people with Down syndrome and their families, this group meets quarterly to find ways to collaborate and talk about new programs and happenings in the community.  Students from Regis, Machebeuf and St. Mary’s High Schools, The University of Denver and The Denver School of Nursing volunteer at the Rise School as part of their service learning requirement.  Lastly The Rise School participates in the Diversity in Early Learning initiative that began this year at The Fisher Early Learning Center, and includes the staff and directors from 7 early learning centers.  The Directors group meets regularly to design ways to share resources.  Staff from all of the centers will participate in a series of workshops together allowing them to interact and meet others in their field.
