Admission
Children with disabilities are admitted to the Rise Program
based upon a referral, a comprehensive evaluation, and the recommendations
of a team of professionals and the child's family. Referrals
can be made by anyone with knowledge of the child, but are
typically made by physicians. A comprehensive evaluation consists
of a series of assessments that involve an educator, physical
therapist, occupational therapist, speech-language pathologist,
service coordinator, and the family. After results are reviewed
by the evaluation team, the service coordinator presents the
recommendations to the director and Rise staff and decisions
are finalized concerning admission.
Children who do not have disabilities are admitted to the program
prior to the fall semester each year. Selections are made based
on the ages of the children and the number of available slots
in each classroom. A priority system is in place for siblings
of children already enrolled in the program and children of staff.
All qualified children are admitted of any race, color, and
national or ethnic origin.
